AI on this site
This site has an assistant behind ⌘K that answers questions about my work. It is a language model, not me. Here is exactly what it is and what it does with what you type.
You are talking to a machine
Answers in the Ask this site panel are generated by Google Gemini, reached through Firebase AI Logic. Nothing there is written or reviewed by me before you see it. It has no memory between questions and no ability to act on anything — it only produces text.
What it can see
It is given my CV and the full text of the posts published on this site, and it is instructed to answer only from those. It has no access to my email, my employer's systems, anything I have written elsewhere, or any customer information.
When the answer is not in that material, it is told to say so rather than guess. It does not always obey. Treat the linked source pages as the truth and the generated answer as a summary that might be wrong.
What happens to your question
- Your question is sent to Google's Gemini API to produce an answer.
- Your question is never recorded. Not by me, not anywhere. The site logs only that a question happened, which model answered, how long it took, and the error text if it failed — never a word of what you typed. That restriction is enforced by the database's own security rules, which reject the field outright, so it holds even if the site's code were changed by mistake.
- Google receives your question in order to answer it, and their terms apply.
- Google's handling is governed by their Gemini API terms and privacy policy.
What else this site records
Which page was opened, which site linked here, a rough region taken from your browser's own clock setting, and your browser and operating system names. That is the whole list.
There are no cookies on this site. Nothing is written to your device — no cookie, no local storage, no identifier of any kind. That is also why you were never asked to accept anything: there is nothing to accept. The trade-off is that I cannot tell a returning reader from a new one, so the dashboard counts page views rather than pretending to count people.
No IP address is stored, no advertising or third-party analytics script runs, and nothing is sold or shared. If your browser sendsDo Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is recorded at all. Records are deleted after 90 days.
Limits
Questions are rate limited per visitor, and the whole site shares one no-cost quota. If you hit either, the panel says so and everything else on the site keeps working. Every page, post and the CV is readable without ever touching the assistant.
If it gets something wrong
I would like to know. Email me at abhinav.jiit.2007@gmail.com with the question you asked. Errors here are mine to fix, not Google's.
The EU AI Act's transparency rules (Article 50) have applied since 2 August 2026. They require that people are told, clearly and up front, when they are interacting with an AI system. The panel says so before you ask anything; this page is the longer version.
